Dog Dies After Struck by Car in Ledyard
The animal control officer is seeking any information on the person who struck the dog.

Earlier on Wednesday, Dec. 3, a car struck a dog on Colonel Ledyard Highway and Whipple Road. The vehicle did not stop, according to Cindy Eilenberger, who posted in the Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. Facebook group.
She continued to update the post and said the dog did not survive the accident.
“The ACO is asking if anyone might have any info on the person who hit this dog to please contact their office,” Eilenberger wrote. “Witnesses state that it was a older tan Volvo or similar type car that has that kind of box shape. Accident happened at approximately 1:40 p.m. You can call the LAC at 860-464-9621. If no answer please leave a message and a contact number and they will get back in touch with you.”
