Ledyard Man Accused In Murder Extradited From GA: Report

A Ledyard man accused of murder who was arrested in Georgia earlier this month has been extradited to Connecticut, according to a report.

LEDYARD, CT — A Ledyard man accused of murder was extradited to Connecticut on Thursday after he was arrested in Georgia earlier this month, according to FOX 61. Steward Holeman, 34, was sent back to Connecticut and charged with murder, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, and carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit.

Police traveled to Georgia earlier this week and took Holeman into custody, according to FOX 61. U.S. Marshals arrested Holeman in Jonesboro, GA on Jan. 5.

He was held on $1.5 million bond and will appear in court Friday.

Holeman was wanted in connection with a murder Nov. 2 on Robin Lane in Ledyard. Holeman is accused of shooting 27-year-old Malik Nunn of Ledyard in the head, FOX 61 reported. The shooting allegedly occurred following an argument between Holeman and Nunn.

Ledyard police requested help on the case from the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force in November. Police and marshals worked closely together to find and apprehend Holeman in Georgia, according to a statement from U.S. Marshals.
