MASHANTUCKET, CT—Accused of raping two different children in his family previously, a 31-year-old East Haven man was charged last week by Mashantucket Tribal Police with the December 2018 rape of a child, court records show. But as he has done in the two previous cases of sexually assaulting children, both family members, Christian Lorig has bonded out of jail.

In the newest case, court records show that Lorig was arrested by Tribal police on Sept. 10. He was charged with two counts of rape, known under the law as first-degree sexual assault, two counts of risk of injury to a child and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. Lorig posted professional surety bond of $200,000 and walked out of jail.

East Haven Police Lt. Joseph Murgo told Patch that Lorig allegedly "...brought his family member to the casino overnight where a sexual assault occurred." Lorig's previous cases are from East Haven.

The August arrest came after a parent and her child went to police on July 31 and detailed several incidences of sexual assault against the child allegedly perpetrated by Lorig, according to records and police statements.

After police and social workers interviewed the victim, they found Lorig had been sexually assaulting the child for several years, a statement read.
