Woman Arrested for Endangering Minor, Resisting Arrest in Ledyard

Police said a Ledyard woman was belligerent and physically resisted officers while being arrested for risk of injury to a minor.

LEDYARD, CT - Police said they arrested a Ledyard woman after receiving reports of the woman potentially endangering a minor. The woman was also allegedly belligerent and physically resisted the arresting officers, police said.

Police said they responded to a report of a domestic disturbance Wednesday at a Ledyard residence, where officers located Emily Perkins, 24, and the adult victim outside in the rain. The victim told officers Perkins was drinking wine all night in their apartment and had begun to yell and throw things, according to a release.

The victim decided to leave and take his child to his mother’s residence, police said. Perkins then began to place the child into her car to leave but was stopped by the victim. He subsequently called 911 after leaving, concerned about the child’s well-being. (To sign up for Ledyard breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
