3 Madison Schools Alter Class Schedule for Wednesday (Sept. 9)
Temps are once again forecast to be in the 90s.

From Madison Schools Superintendent Thomas Scarice:
Good afternoon,
Once again, I apologize in advance for any inconvenience, but our three elementary schools (Jeffrey, Ryerson, and Island) will be dismissing early again tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9, at 1:00 due to the extreme heat conditions forecasted. The after care programs will continue to run normal hours, beginning at 1:00, for all families who use this service. They will be moved to air-conditioned locations in the buildings.

The early dismissal today enabled our youngest children to avoid the hottest time of the day, and, as a result, we had minimal reports of heat-related health concerns at school today. Please keep in mind that the school day for many of these children does not end until their bus drops them off after 4:00 p.m.
Precautions are taken at each school and efforts are made to move children to cooler locations where possible. However, these options are limited at the elementary buildings.

Thank you for your understanding, and once again, I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may cause your family.
