After Workshop On New School, District Hopes People Will Take Survey

MADISON, CT —The architectural firm designing the new Pre-K to 5 school on Mungertown Road held a community workshop Sept. 28 to gather input from residents. In a thank you to the community for being part of the workshop school designers, Tecton Architects hope for continued community engagement. It has created a survey so more of the community can weigh in, and share their thoughts, on the design and construction of the new building.

In the fall of 2021, the Board of Selectmen approved the purchase of the site known as the Jansen property for $1.3 million. The 14.2-acre site would be home to the proposed new Jeffrey School, part of the Madison Schools Renewal Plan, which was designed to address "aging school buildings."

Voters approved the measure in the February 2022 referendum. Per the plan, Jeffery and Ryerson elementary schools and the Town Campus Learning Center Preschool will close, according to the town.

All Madison residents are encouraged to attend and participate. If you are unable to attend, there will be multiple other in-person and virtual opportunities throughout the fall and winter to share your thoughts.
