Award Winners at Madison Art Society Members' Show

The Madison Art Society held their opening reception for their Members’ Show on February 7, 2016. Those in attendance voted for their favorite artwork among the 113 works exhibited. The winner of the Popular Choice Award is Hilary Griffin for her watercolor entitled Climb High. Her award was generously funded by Lenny and Joe’s. Susan Powell of Susan Powell Fine Art, a gallery in Madison chose the Critic’s Award. This year’s recipient is Mike Eagle for his watercolor painting entitled August 17th. Both award winning works will be on display as part of the Members’ show at the Scranton Memorial Library, 801 Boston Post Road until February 26.
In conjunction with the exhibit the society will be offering a critique of selected works in the show by award winner Mike Eagle. The critique will be held in the community room of the library on Sunday, February 21 from 1:30 - 3:30. The critique is a excellent opportunity for artists and viewers to hear a professional artist review works and offer suggestions for improvement. The public is welcome to attend.
