Backyard Pig Roast BBQ Coming to Wall Street to Benefit Camp Rising Sun

Celebrate the fall season with an old-fashioned Pig Roast and BBQ on Wall Street while supporting a great cause.

Moxie restaurant is donating 100 percent of the profits of the event to Camp Rising Sun, a Branford non-profit that provides a fun summer camp experience to children with cancer.

The event will be held on Sunday, October 18 from 11-5pm at Moxie.

In addition to the pig roast, the staff at Moxie, who have volunteered their time for this event, will be serving ribs, barbeque chicken and plenty of sides. Thirsty? Over 20 craft breweries will be on-hand with over 100 different beers to taste.

Bands the Wagon Riders and Left on Scarlet Street will provide live music during the tent.

At noon attendees can participate in a chili tasting competition. Ten juried chili recipes have been selected by Moxie chef Derek Seigfried for the contest. Guests will have the opportunity to taste and select their favorite.

In true backyard barbeque tradition, the event will be held under a tent behind the restaurant, which is located at 52 Wall Street in Madison. A silent auction, which includes a cooking and mixology class for ten people at Moxie, led by the restaurant’s chef and bar manager will provide additional donations to Camp Rising Sun.

Tickets, which include food, beer tasting and chili tasting cost $50 for adults, $30 for those under 21 and children under 5 are free.
