Bridges Of Madison: Heatherwood Drive & Country Road Bridges Finished
After years of work on grants, design, project plans and finally, construction, bridges over Camp Laurelwood Brook, Hammonasset River open.
MADISON, CT — Though the actual bridge replacement construction began in 2022, it took years to get to that point.
Now, the fruits of that labor are set in stone.
Construction on the Heatherwood Drive bridge, which began in June, is complete.

And the reconstruction of the County Road Bridge over the Hammonasset River, on the Madison and Killingworth town line, which began last winter, is also complete.
First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons praised Madison Public Works Director John Iennaco and Deputy Director Rob Russo for "their great work."

"Both of these bridges are back open for residents after many years of hard work completing grant applications, designing the bridges, project planning and development, and finally launching construction in 2022," Lyons wrote.
