On Friday July 3rd, join us for a festive evening at this year’s 4th of July Concert on the Green, presented by Madison Cultural Arts. Celebrate Independence Day with an exciting lineup featuring the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Philip Ventre, presenting “Echoes of Our Past in Spirit and Song” at 7PM with our Opening Act – Lancraft Fife and Drum Crops at 6PM.

The Madison Historical Society will host an Open House and Summer Market on July 11 from 11 am to 2 pm at the historic Allis-Bushnell House Museum, located at 853 Boston Post Road. Visitors are invited to enjoy a variety of local vendors on the beautiful back lawn before stepping inside the historic house to explore the current Madison 200 exhibit. Admission is free of charge.

Join the Madison Historical Society on Wednesday, August 13, 2026, at 6 pm at The Allis Bushnell House for a special presentation, Costume in Detail: Discover How Clothes Tell the Stories of Madison’s Women, presented by Clare Barnett.
Drawing from the Madison Historical Society’s remarkable costume collection, this program will explore the stories of several Madison women whose lives are preserved through the garments and accessories they once owned. Through careful examination of fabrics, construction techniques, alterations, wear patterns, and historical documentation, attendees will discover how clothing can reveal insights into family life, social status, education, work, travel, and community involvement.
Featured objects include dresses worn by prominent Madison residents. Visitors will see a pair of wedding shoes belonging to former Madison High School principal Mary Frances Hull and a mourning bonnet owned by Mary Scranton Evarts, the first librarian of Madison’s E.C. Scranton Memorial Library. The presentation will also highlight the life of physician and surgeon Isadora Murray, whose elegant dress survives as a rare artifact of her extraordinary career and personal story.

Lenny's Indian Head Inn

Officers with the Branford Police Department will host a Tip-A-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut at Lenny’s Indian Head Inn located at 205 S. Montowese Street in Branford on Monday, September 28, between 12 PM to 9 PM.
During the event, law enforcement will volunteer their time to work with restaurant employees and welcome customers, take orders and serve meals to diners. All tips the officers receive will be dedicated to helping Special Olympics Connecticut provide life-changing sports, health, and fitness programs to athletes of all abilities. Tip-A-Cop is a Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut event. About the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut
The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut is a year-round program and one of the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles. Officers organize and host fundraisers that include but are not limited to Tip-a-Cop, Cop-on-Top and Penguin Plunge events, all to benefit local Special Olympics athletes.
A highlight of the program is the annual three-day Torch Run which takes place every June. During the Torch Run, officers from police departments and law enforcement agencies across the state run and carry the Special Olympics "Flame of Hope" more than 500 miles through their towns and cities to the site of the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games.
