MADISON, CT — It was Madison Public School's 24th Annual Read Aloud Day Wednesday.
In the wake of Tuesday's school massacre in Texas that took the lives of 19 young children, Sen. Christine Cohen said that on this "difficult day" she visited Ryerson Elementary School to read aloud to Kindergartners. And there she "found joy."
Cohen visited educator Christine Ackermann's kindergarten class and said she was, "grateful for this bright spot today and the laughter these students induced with their honest and perceptive comments about this sweet story of friendship."

"Finding joy on this difficult news day by reading to Mrs. Ackermann’s kindergarten class at Ryerson Elementary School for Madison’s 24th Annual Read Aloud Day," Cohen wrote on Facebook. "Grateful for this bright spot today and the laughter these students induced with their honest and perceptive comments about this sweet story of friendship. Bonus seeing one of my friends as Mrs. Tina Perry welcomed me into her library at the school."
