This flowering beauty inspired me to finally start a garden blog. If you don't eat it, stake this red, green and violet specimen next to your dark arbor vitae, ligularia or any other dark leaf for color and texture contrast. Pair with Karl Foerster (Calamagrostis acutiflora) or native grasses (andropogon or northern sea oats) to enhance both color and contrast. Or, you could just stare at it.
