Construction Begins On Madison's New Elementary School

Neck River Elementary School is at 180 Mungertown Road.

MADISON, CT — Construction was slated to begin this week on Neck River Elementary School, Madison's newest school, located at 180 Mungertown Road.

"Preliminary work will begin with tree removal, the installation of fencing, soil erosion controls and excavation," wrote First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons in a Community Update. "All efforts will be made to minimize the impact the construction may have on traffic patterns."

The new school will rest on a 12-acre site " directly west of the existing academic campus containing Hand High School, Polson Middle School, and Jeffrey Elementary School," according to district officials.
