Coyote Sightings Reported In Madison
The Madison Animal Control Department was recently made aware of coyote sightings, officials said.

Shared by Madison 911 Emergency Communications Center:
The Madison Animal Control Department was recently made aware of coyote sightings near Exchange Fields and Parking Area, and has heard concerns of safety as the weather improves and the field use escalates. Madison ACO has taken these concerns very seriously and has reached out to the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Wildlife Division for assistance in handling this matter.
DEEP advises that coyotes are now in their baby rearing season, a time when adult coyotes are often very active, at all hours, searching for food. According to DEEP, small pets and animals may be at an increased risk of coyote attack, but threats to humans are minimal - unless that human encroaches on a den of young coyotes.
