The Curtain Rises At Madison Cinemas Friday

Sing 2, Nightmare Alley: Visions In Darkness And Light and West Side Story will be shown in the movie house shuttered for almost two years.

MADISON, CT - It’s happening. Friday night is movie night in downtown Madison with the grand opening of Madison Cinemas.

The theater is equipped with a state-of-the-art air filtration system, owners said, which "eradicates Covid-19 and SARS viruses, increasing guest safety and comfort."

It also has new “luxury rockers,” new movie screens, new bathrooms and new refreshment area.

The renovated cinema promises “a great luxury experience with great movies for everyone.”

Playing Friday are Sing 2, Nightmare Alley: Visions In Darkness And Light and
West Side Story.

Coming soon also are “luxury concessions” with beer, wine and hot foods and more.

Here's what you need to know:

Ticket prices

  • Shows after 5 p.m., are $11 for kids 12 and under, $14.50 for adults and $11 for seniors 62 and over.
  • Matinees, before 5 p.m. are $10 for kids 12 and under, $12 for adults and $10 for seniors 62 and over.
  • Early bird matinees - the first show of the day - and all day Wednesday, all ticket prices are $7.

The box office opens 20 minutes before the first show.
