Daniel Hand Class Of 2020 Makes The Marquee

Madison Arts Cinema is closed, but owner Arnold Gorlick's heart is open. Here is the Daniel Hand High School Class of 2020 in lights.

MADISON, CT — The Madison Art Cinemas has been closed since the pandemic began. But the heart and goodwill of its owner Arnold Gorlick isn't worn on his sleeve but rather, in bright lights on the theatre marquee.

In a Facebook post by Nite in Hand, the decades-long committee that organizes the celebration held graduation night at the Daniel Hand High School, it was announced that Gorlick was going to put up the names of the Class of 202o.

So a reporter drove over to take photos but her iPhone would not cooperate. Fortunately, a parent, Amy Johnson, offered to help. With a camera phone that was able to capture the names emblazoned in lights, she stood and snapped photo after photo for Patch, and for you, Class of 2020. Her daughter is Violet Johnson and is off to Tufts University in the fall.
