Daniel Hand’s Girls’ Swim Team Adds Two More Wins
Hand closes their season with an impressive record of 10-3.

On October 24th, in their final event of the regular season, the Daniel Hand High School Girls’ Swim Team took two competitors down with winning scores of 96 - 87 against Lyman Hall and 102 - 79 against Jonathan Law. The event was held at Mark T. Sheehan High School in Wallingford and Hand had many first place swimmers.
In the 200 Freestyle event, Caroline Wolek’s time of 2:08.44 took first place to both competitors as did her time in the 500 Freestyle of 5:34.51. Deirdre Haren’s time of 1:00.43 in the 100 Freestyle trumped both teams as did the relay team of Grace Hesse, Alex Wagner, Caroline Wolek and Marissa Rossi, with a time of 1:50.19 in the 200 Freestyle event. Diver Renata Diotalevi scored wins against both teams with a score of 206.5 in the 1 meter event.
Deirdre Haren also beat Lyman Hall in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.22 as did Leah Connolly in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:10.59.
