Docks At West Wharf Help Fire/Rescue Response Time: Harbormaster
'Years of planning and dreaming' result in donated, refurbished dock at West Wharf to help response time for fire and/or rescue boats.
MADISON, CT — As boating season is underway, donated and refurbished docks were installed on the West Wharf Pier this week.
Harbormaster Steven Adkins says "response time for the Fire/Rescue boat is the primary reason" for the installation as "previously, extreme low tides and waves would hamper the fire departments' ability to use the boat effectively."
The North Madison Volunteer Fire Company cheered: "Awesome! A much-needed improvement that will cut down response time and improve firefighter safety."
