ESPN Paid A Visit To Ryerson Elementary To Honor Its Unified Team
The Ryerson Unified Sports Team was honored with "banner recognition from the CIAC for being a Special Olympics Unified Champion School."

MADISON, CT — Thursday was a big day at Ryerson Elementary School when ESPN stopped by.
The Ryerson Unified Sports Team was honored with "banner recognition from the CIAC for being a Special Olympics Unified Champion School," Madison Public Schools announced.
The CIAC Unified Team then unanimously selected Ryerson for the ESPN Honor Roll Designation for 2021.

"Ryerson Elementary is one of only 25 schools from across the country to be recognized and is the only school in Connecticut to receive such an honor," the schools noted.

Thursday, ESPN and CIAC came to Ryerson Elementary to present the Ryerson Unified Sports program with a plaque and a banner to celebrate the recognition. The whole school came together to celebrate this great achievement.

Ryerson Principal Kelly Spooner was quoted as saying the success of the school's unified sports"is due to our exceptional staff and students."
She was quoted as saying that the "inclusivity of this team is at the heart of who we are at Ryerson. It is an honor for us today to be recognized on such a grand platform. Madison is fortunate to have such great people working and learning alongside our future.”
