Free Events with The Country School this April
STEAM, robotics, visit days, secondary school fair, parent/educator talks - join The Country School for several events this spring

The Country School is pleased to offer several opportunities for area students and their families this April. All events are free and open to the public.
April 6-17: Experience The Country School Firsthand
During these two weeks in April, when The Country School is in session and many area schools are on break, we invite students to visit school for either a half or full day. While students head off to their morning activities, parents will join us for a guided tour of campus. Hours for the visits will vary with the age of the student and family preference, so after registering, you will be contacted to determine a schedule that works best for your family.

April 8: Robotics at R. J. Julia Booksellers

Country School teachers and students will facilitate two STEAM/Robotics Workshops at R. J. Julia Booksellers, 768 Boston Post Road, Madison. The first, being held from 10:30 a.m.-noon, will be for students in Grades 2-4. The second, from 4-5:30 p.m., will be for students in Grades 5-8. Members of The Country School’s award-winning Robotics Teams will join Country School STEAM teachers and robotics coaches to facilitate these programs. April 9: Parent/Educator Event – How to Raise a Drug-free Child
Join us for an evening with Joseph A. Califano, Jr., former US Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare, founder of The National Center of Addiction and Substance Abuse, and author of How to Raise a Drug-Free Kid: The Straight Dope for Parents. Mr. Califano and a panel of Yale experts will provide insights on how to help children get through the dangerous decade from 10 to 21. The event starts at 6 p.m. in The Country School’s DeFrancis Gymnasium. Learn more here. Kindly register by April 2.
REGISTER for How to Raise a Drug-Free Kid
April 15: STEAM Presentation and Workshop at The Country School
Area families with students in Kindergarten-Grade 5 are invited to a STEAM presentation followed by STEAM workshops on campus. Students and parents arrive at 8:30 a.m. for the school Radio Show/morning meeting, where a presentation about STEAM, our integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math program, will take place. Following the meeting, visiting students will head to the STEAM Lab for STEAM workshops facilitated by our STEAM Coordinator and other teachers. Parents are welcome to tour campus at that time and later observe activities in the STEAM Lab.

April 16: Secondary School Fair
Discover your high school options at The Country School’s 13th Annual Secondary School Fair. From 6-7:30 p.m., representatives from an array of independent secondary schools will be on campus to meet with prospective students and their families and to share information about their schools.
