Full Moon Labrynth Walks
Join us for a Full Moon Labyrinth Walk on Mercy Center's seven-circuit labyrinth, with breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound.
Labyrinths have been around for over 4000 years and are found in just about every major religious tradition in the world. They have been an integral part of many cultures such as Native American, Greek, Celtic and Mayan. The Hopi called the labyrinth the symbol for “mother earth” and equated it with the Kiva. Like Stonehenge and the pyramids, they are magical geometric forms that define sacred space.
Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing, bring a flashlight and check in at our front desk when you arrive. We gather for a brief introduction to the labyrinth and centering prayer before viewing the moon rise and walking the labyrinth. We then reconvene after the walk to share a comfortable cup of tea and to process our experience.
