What is that line, "Little children, little problems, big children, big problems?" It's very true, though it doesn't seem that way when you've got very young children and have to get everything done around the holidays. One of my children loved to shop with me. He would marvel at the lights and window displays as I wheeled him along the mall in his carriage. My daughter hated it, and usually screamed the entire time. I was the mother getting dirty looks from the other shoppers imploring me to get control or leave, which I usually did. Friends encouraged me to Cybershop and I did, though I do love the ritual of Christmas shopping in stores. This year, a group of local merchants will make it possible for moms with young kids to get some shopping done in peace and quiet. The Madison Racquet & Swim Club will provide free tennis lessons for tots while their mothers browse the Holiday Boutique on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jewelry, clothing, home accessories, gifts and more will be offered. I'll be there with lavender-scented eye bags, a must-have for all harried moms, and other yoga gifts. So stop down if you can.
