Local Girl Scouts Help Pay For Beach Accessibility Mat In Madison
The mat was installed at West Wharf Beach earlier this month.

MADISON, CT — Area Junior Girl Scout Troop 63260 recently raised $1,800 to help pay for an accessibility mat at West Wharf Beach in Madison, according to town officials.
The mat, which is 50 feet long and 5 feet wide, will allow people of all abilities to cross the sand and access the surf. It is made from a cool, firm, non-slip material.
Inspiration for the mat came from girl scouts who learned of accessibility issues experienced by people in wheelchairs.
