Luminaries Will Light Up Green, Shining Light On Sexual Violence

MADISON, CT — Madison Youth and Family Services' Girls United hopes to shine a light on, and create awareness of, domestic violence with an event April 3.

Jane Do No More is a non-profit that "empowers survivors of sexual crimes to find their voice, advance their healing and educate others." Some of those survivors will share their stories on the town Green in front of the First Congregational Church starting at 6:30 p.m.

Girls United is raising money for care packages for victims of sexual violence receiving treatment in hospitals. And the community can help "light up the Green" by buying a luminary in advance of the event.

The cost is one for $3 or two for $5.
