Madison Adopts $96.7 Million Operating Budget For 2024-25

Voters approved the budget in Tuesday's referendum.

MADISON, CT — Madison voters approved the town's 2024-25 operating budget of $97.6 million Tuesday in a referendum that saw nearly 17 percent of registered voters cast ballots.

The referendum vote was split in two between $33,974,100 for the town's budget, and $63,645,156 for the education budget.

For the town portion, the final vote tally was 1,248 in favor of the budget, and 1,011 against it, according to Town Clerk Nancy J. Martucci and Head Moderator Laura Downes.

As for the education component, the vote total was 1,328 in favor, 930 against.

A total of 2,265 voters cast ballots in the Madison referendum, or 16.6 percent of the electorate.
