Madison-Based Small Businesses, Non-Profits Can Apply For ARPA Funds
Funds help Madison non-profits, small businesses and service departments in recovery efforts from the COVID-19 public health emergency.

MADISON, CT —The town committee formed to help distribute monies from the America Rescue Plan Act of 2021 is accepting applications from Madison-based small businesses, non-profit organizations, and town service departments. Funds awarded to the town can help non-profits and small businesses in their recovery efforts from the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Earlier this year, the Board of Selectmen established a public committee comprised of volunteers and representatives from the Selectmen, Board of Finance and Board of Education to disburse the funds. Examples of local organizations awarded ARPA funding include the American Legion, Madison Ambulance Association, Madison Cultural Arts, Madison Hose, and North Madison Fire.
ARPA Funding Eligibility
Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis until the available funds are exhausted. Grant awards in excess of $50,000 will be subject to federal reporting requirements. For the purposes of this grant submission, the following categories will be utilized:

A small business is defined as employing not more than 100 employees and has operations in Madison. Examples: a trade name on file with the State of Connecticut or appearance on the Town’s Grand List.
A non-profit entity is defined as an entity with a Madison address organized and operated for a collective, public or social benefit (non-profit status may be demonstrated by supplying the organization's CT-990 form or 501(c) incorporation documents.)

The applicant must be in good standing with the Connecticut Secretary of the State in terms of business/non-profit filings.
