Madison Celebrates Addition Of New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Madison held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 23 to celebrate the new charging stations

MADISON, CT — Madison officials this week celebrated the addition of four new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations in town with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"This initiative was spearheaded by the Economic Development Commission and was financed through a combination of town funds and Eversource grants facilitated by the State," the town said in an announcement.

There are now five EV stations in Madison, four of which are available to the general public.

  • Bradley Road, across from the Senior Center
  • Wall Street, behind the movie theater
  • Memorial Town Hall, back of the building
  • Near Scranton Pavilion, Samson Rock Road

Attendees at the ribbon-cutting ceremony included First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons; state Sen. Christine Cohen; Selectpersons Al Goldberg and Jennifer Gordon; Economic Development Commission Chair Chair Andrew Wood and members Ryan Duques and Tom Hummel; Dawn Jackson from the Chamber of Commerce; Interim Construction Manager Felicia Smith; and the Director of Emergency Services Sam DeBurra, the town said.
