Madison Coronavirus Update: 43 Confirmed Cases In Town
Madison First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons shared an update on the coronavirus and the latest news in town.
MADISON, CT — As of Monday there are 41 Madison residents and two town employees who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons, posting on the Town website.
"Please continue to keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers as they battle this cruel virus," Lyons said.
The first selectwoman also assured residents that power utility Eversource was ahead of the threat that the hurricane-level gusts of winds forecast for Monday could mean to a shut-in population:

"Because so many of us are working or studying from home, Eversource is very aware of its need to provide customers with the most reliable service and up to date information. It has already developed a plan to respond to outages during the pandemic that incorporates cleaning and social distancing policies, and addresses possible staff shortages due to illness. Residential and commercial customers should continue to report a power outage by calling 800-286-2000, or online at https://www.eversource.com/customercare/ReportOutage. Customers can also sign-up to receive outage and restoration updates via text, email or phone."
