MADISON, CT — Madison residents will have the opportunity to obtain items for free from the town Beach and Recreation Department's old sailing fleet this weekend, officials announced.

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Surf Club, the department will be disposing of the fleet, which will allow residents to view "and take what they want" from the vessels — or a vessel itself — for free.

"You must be a Madison resident and show proof of residency with a car registration or tax bill along with a driver's license," organizers wrote in a statement. "You will be required to sign a Hold Harmless agreement upon arrival. This event is held on a first come first served basis, and you must be able to load the vessel into your vehicle/trailer and take it with you."
