Madison First Selectwoman Looks To Hire Executive Assistant

MADISON, CT — Madison First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons is looking to hire an executive assistant.

The town has posted the non-union position on its website, and the job has a salary range of $28.82 to $40.31 per hour. The successful candidate will work from the Town Campus Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to noon, or a total of 35.5 hours per week.

"The purpose of this position is to maintain and provide a high level of support to the First Selectwoman’s calendar, schedules appointments and meetings, facilitates the management of the First Selectwoman’s workload," the job listing reads. "Manages the schedules and communications of the First Selectwoman. Manages meeting preparation for the First Selectwoman, Board of Selectman and the Board of Finance. Assists in the management of constituent complaints and coordinates with appropriate Town Departments. Assists the First Selectwoman in the preparation and dissemination of Town related communications, alerts, press releases, articles, etc. for the general public. Coordinates Zoom access and hybrid meeting staffing for the BOS, BOF, and various Ad-Hoc Committees for the BOS."

Additionally, the job requires a "wide variety of other administrative duties," such as maintaining and updating files in accordance with state Freedom of Information laws, reviewing contracts and correspondence, and other responsibilities.

The successful candidate must have an active driver's license, and an "associate’s degree in business management or administration or a related field with five years of related experience or any combination of education and experience."
