Madison Food Truck Vendors Get Another 2 Weeks

The Madison Board of Selectmen voted Monday morning to allow food truck vendors to continue to operate on the more visible north street side of School Street for the next two weeks, reports The Source’s Jack Kramer.

The town of Madison is also trying to find out what you think about food trucks and where they should be located in town.

On the town’s official website there are six questions for residents to respond to specifically concerning food trucks and where they should be located. Click here to respond to the survey.

The first question, asks if you’ve visited the food trucks, and subsequent questions focus on where they should be located. For example, Should the food trucks remain on Academy Street (see A in image above) or be allowed to also park in front of Academy School (see B in image above) on the north side of School Street ?

The there is a question about allowing the trucks to move back to the more visible north side of School Street, and should the town limit the number of trucks that can park there?

The survey also asks residents for suggestions. What do you think of the survey?

If you haven’t been following the Madison food truck debate here is some background. This summer the selectmen voted to move the trucks from near the Green to Academy Street, which has essentially hurt business and now food truck vendors are taking action including scaling back their hours of operations, The Source has reported

When Madison decided to move the controversial food trucks from the more visible Boston Post Road location near the Green to Academy Street several trucks didn’t make the move.

Besides moving to a less desirable location they have to pay a $500 parking fee and there are certain dates that they can’t be there.
