Madison Racquet & Swim Club Well Represented At Level 7 Doubles Tournament

Congratulations to the champions and finalists!

Madison Racquet & Swim Club was well represented with 25 players from the club participating in a Level 7 Doubles Tournament on October 1st.  Congratulations to the champions and finalists.

Boys 18s
David Schulz and Nate Vancil both of Madison Racquet & Swim Club advanced to the semi-finals were they lost in an 8-2 match against Jack Rothman of Old Saybrook and Morgan White of Old Lyme.  Rothman and White won the division title.

Boys 16s
Austin Paresi of Madison and Luke Lemieux of Guilford defeated David Schulz and Shayan Roychoudhury of Madison in a close 8-6 match for the Boys 16s title.  Schulz and Roychoudhury of Madison advanced to the finals with a win over Kyle Fay and Andrew Goldfeder, 8-5 in the semis.

Boys 14s
Madison’s Kyle Fay and Andrew Goldfeder captured the division title with an exciting 9-7 win over William Bently of Burlington and Holden Robinson of Harwinton.

Other competitors from MRSC included James Cutler and Matt Karas who advanced to the semi final round and James Burris and Jake Nulsen, who also competed in the 14 and under division.

Girls 18s
Caroline Barton of MRSC teamed up with Louisa Chua-Rubenfield of New Haven to win the Girls 18s title in a tough 8-4 match against  Megan Sosensky and Halle Lavieri, both of MRSC.  Sosensky and Lavieri defeated Claudia Lohn of MRSC in the semi finals with an exciting 9-7 win.

Girls 16s
Caroline Barton of MRSC teamed with Louisa Chua-Rubenfield of New Haven to win the Girls 16s doubles title with a 8-2 win against MRSC’s Caleigh Curran and Claudia Lohn of MRSC.   In the semi finals, Lohn and Curren defeated  Amber and Jessica DeRobertis of New Fairfield 8-5 and Casey Burns and Reilly Fitzgibbons of MRSC were downed by Caroline Barton of MRSC and Louisa Chua-Rubenfield of New Haven 8-3. 

Also competing in the Girls 16s division were Megan Sosensky and Halle Lavieri both of MRSC.

Girls 14s
Sabrina Colonese-DiBello and Ryann Corniello, both of MRSC, took home the Girls 18s title with a brisk 8-3 win over Emily Beck and Olivia Hiller of MRSC.
