Madison's 5-Year Requested Capital Improvement Plan Totals $33 Million

A substantial portion of the capital request is for funds for a library construction project. No votes have been taken or funds approved.

Madison officials have announced in detail the requested 5-year capital expenditures by each department.

Overall the price tag is about $33 million in requests with $19.74 million requested for the 2016-17 fiscal year including $14 million for library construction costs.

Just because an item has been requested by a department doesn’t mean it will be funded. A capital plan is a planning tool but in no way is it a requirement that funds be approved.
