Madison's Library Has Plenty Going On This Spring

MADISON — The E.C. Scranton Memorial Library has a busy spring on tap, with local library lovers being given the chance to tap their brains, turn some pages and learn a thing or two.

• On Saturday, May 7, at 2:30 p.m., the library will host a hands-on workshop will allow veterans to interact with canines who are trained to meet their needs, including emotional support dogs, guide dogs, PTSD dogs, and more. Handlers will demonstrate what tasks these dogs are able to perform for their owners. This event will take place in the library’s outdoor tent.

• On Wednesday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. physical therapist Corey Podbielski will present an interactive talk on getting yourself ready for golf season. Topics will include warming up before a round, keeping the “high stress” areas of your body resilient, and having more fun. These exercises will help you play your best on the range. Mr. Podbielski will perform physical demonstrations and refreshments will be served.

• On, Thursday, May 12, at 6 p.m., join the library for the third and final event of its Spring Trivia Series. Big Boy Entertainment will regale participants with 50 questions of learned lore to challenge and thrill. There will be food, fun and festivity. Patrons may register individually or as part of a team; the maximum team size is six people.

• On Friday, June 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. visitors can enjoy the Scranton Library’s second annual fun-filled night of shopping. Ticket price includes shopping, refreshments, entertainment, friendship, and fun.
