MADISON, CT — On Monday, Madison schools reported three new cases of coronavirus, one in the middle school, one at Ryerson Elementary School and the other at Jeffrey Elementary School. All have been told to stay home in isolation.

New schools superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke said the students and staff “directly impacted by this temporary shift to remote learning” were contacted. He also noted that the cases are “not a result of school-based transmission.” Cooke said that the district and health department “feel confident” that all three school can remain open.

According to Cooke, since the beginning of the fall semester, there have been 47 student cases and 10 staff cases.
