Neighbors, Madison Beach Hotel Continue Legal Fight
Residents are not happy about how they claim the hotel's commercial operations have grown.

MADISON, CT - The Madison Beach Preservation Association (MBPA) has amended its lawsuit against the Madison Beach Hotel to include more examples of violations the group claims the hotel has breached.
The Madison Source reports that the group, some of whom are neighbors of the hotel, claims the hotel continues to expand its commercial operations in violation of town zoning rules.
In 2008, town officials agreed to allow the hotel to do certain things, but the MBPA says that the hotel is still hosting too many people at some special functions, allowing music to be played too loud and burning too many lights, among other concerns.

Earlier this year, the State Appellate Court ruled in favor of the neighbors and thwarted the hotel and Planning and Zoning Commission from re-designating the area around the hotel to allow for easier zoning approvals.
