New Elementary School Building Project Workshop Set For Wednesday
The architectural firm and the town are encouraging the community to be part of the discussions, planning for the new school project.
MADISON, CT —The architectural firm designing the new Pre-K to 5 school on Mungertown Road will hold a workshop to gather input from the community on the new building Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Polson Middle School.
Tecton Architects are designing the new school on the 14.2-acre site. In the fall of 2021, the Board of Selectmen approved the purchase of the site known as the Jansen property for $1.3 million.
The 14.2-acre site would be home to the proposed new Jeffrey School, part of the Madison Schools Renewal Plan, which was designed to address "aging school buildings." Voters approved the measure in the February 2022 referendum. Per the plan, Jeffery and Ryerson elementary schools and the Town Campus Learning Center Preschool will close, according to the town.
