Some positive steps taken the last couple of days with two opportunities here in CT for Director level jobs at a camp for seriously ill children and a well –run community food and programming center for seniors. Two ends of a health and well being spectrum! This job search process is constantly evolving, I hadn’t thought about these types of non-profit places as good fits for me but they are.
I try to be open to new ways of thinking and doing but wonder sometimes if I really am. I love comfort zones! I sent letters and resumes in and feel good. Spoke with a fellow high school an alumnus who’s Head Lacrosse Coach as CU Boulder. Nice guy with lots of positive words about that part of the world and the opportunities. So much of this is finding ways to keep a good frame of mind and heart. I do not expect anyone I call to have an open position and try to deflect any expectations. More times than not, those people know someone or have some ideas that LEAD to good things. When I do land a job, I will remember to keep reaching out in my work, to remain OPEN to what life gives me and to be clear with what I want.
Re-reading this, I see the life-lessons for me here too. Come what may…J
