Obituary: Alan David Spargo, 61, Formerly of Madison

Alan died on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his four sisters. Alan was born on June 8, 1956 to Alan D. Spargo Sr and Catherine (Gilmartin) (Spargo) Christensen. He was predeceased by both parents who died in June 2017.

He is survived by his four sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Spargo of Hudson, MA, Jeanne (Spargo) Chatot (Paul) of Post Mills, VT, Kathryn Spargo of Ivoryton, CT and Cara Spargo of Wallingford, CT as well as his cousins. Alan will also be missed by friends in Westport, CT. Alan spent the early years of his life in West Haven, and Madison, CT. For many years he lived in Westport, CT.

Alan worked as a machinist, boat mechanic, and carpenter. He enjoyed camping, boating, Tai chi, reading and spending time with his family. His family would like to express their deepest thanks to all the MICU staff that cared for Alan during his stay at Bridgeport Hospital.

There will be a Memorial Service for Alan on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 3pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford, CT.
