Carrie L. Beecher, 55, of Madison, loving wife of David Beecher, Passed away peacefully June 7, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Hartford on November 1, 1962, a daughter of the late Benson Levine and Barbara “Bobbie” (Zelikofsky) Rapp.

Carrie worked in sports marketing throughout her life. Carrie moved to this area in 1990 while working for the Volvo International Tennis Tournament. David and Carrie met working on the tournament at Yale and later formed their own event management firm. Carrie was also the Director of the New Haven Street Festival for three years.

When the Beechers started a family, they reentered the boarding school world where Carrie served as tennis coach and advisor at Wilbraham & Monson Academy for three years, and tennis coach, development associate and First Lady of Hillside School for 17 years.

In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by her daughters, Madeline Beecher of Washington, DC and Haley Beecher of Madison; her sister, Lauren Tobin of Tampa, Florida; her nephew, Charlie Tobin; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 9:30 am, directly at Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. Her funeral will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday at First Congregational Church of Madison, 26 Meetinghouse Lane, Madison. In Lieu of flowers, Gifts in her memory can be made to Connecticut Hospice Homecare, Branford, CT or Temple Emanuel, Marlborough, MA
