She was an active member of St. Margaret Church and served as president of the Womens' Guild there.

Diane Scarpati, 76, beloved wife of Thomas S. Scarpati, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Antoinette Caporicci DiSarle.
Diane was a legal secretary prior to her marriage. She was an active member of St. Margaret Church and served as president of the Womens' Guild there. Diane was an avid reader and a gifted craftsperson who enjoyed needlepoint and knitting. She loved to entertain, cook and bake and was especially known for her Christmas cookies.

Diane was a 25-year volunteer for the American Red Cross and was also a caregiver to her mother for many years. Most of all, Diane cherished special times spent with her family.
Besides her husband Tom of 56 years, Diane is survived by her two daughters: Marianne Scarpati Cosgrove and her husband Timothy of Madison and Jennifer Scarpati and her husband Andrew Schinder of Mountain Lakes, NJ, as well as her brother, Dennis DiSarle of Cranford, NJ. Diane had three adored grandsons: Zachary Cosgrove, and Jesse and Graham Schinder.Calling hours will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on January 13, 2018 at Swan Funeral Home in Madison.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. at St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy St. Madison CT. Burial will be private. Memorials in Diane's name may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
