Obituary: Geraldine “Gerri” Culver Keating 73, of Madison

Gerri was a member of the Madison Chamber of Commerce and was a Board Member for a period of 2 terms.

Geraldine “Gerri” Culver Keating 73, of Madison beloved wife of James E. Keating passed away peacefully on November 14, 2018 in CT. Hospice with her loving family by her side. Loving mother of Kristin (Tom) Schmidt of FL and Robyn (Seth) Brady of CA. Loving grandmother of Colin, Andrew, Mia, Hadley and Wilder. Great grandmother to Riley.

Gerri was born in New Haven on December 30, 1944 beloved daughter of the late Gerald Culver and Mary and Michael Ciarlelli. She was a graduate of Charter Oak College, in Hartford with a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in psychology.

A long time realtor on the shoreline she later worked for Mechanics Savings Bank in Hartford as a Mortgage Loan Officer as well as for Guilford Savings Bank and New Haven Savings Bank. She returned to the field of Real Estate for Prudential Realty in Madison. Gerri was a member of the Madison Chamber of Commerce and was a Board Member for a period of 2 terms. After being selected as a member in 1994 of the Rotary Group Study Exchange to the Midlands of England she became a Rotarian for the Clinton Sunrise Club later serving as President and leading her own group Study Team, to the area surrounding London, England in 2000.

An avid Traveler, from a very young age, travel remained a passion and she enjoyed many trips, within the US, as well as Europe and South America.Relatives and friends are invited to a parlor service in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven on WEDNESDAY morning at 11:00. Interment will be private.
