Obituary: ​Gloria Urcelay Sypher, 91, of Madison

She spent the last 25 years of her career as the School Nursing Supervisor for the city of New Haven.

Gloria Urcelay Sypher of Madison, CT passed away at the age of 91 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a month long illness.Born and raised in Fall River, MA, she attended Simon's College in Boston for a B.S. in Nursing and spent her career using her Master's in Public Health.

She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Lynde Sypher, whom she married in 1957 and after raising their two children. She spent the last 25 years of her career as the School Nursing Supervisor for the city of New Haven, CT. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Sypher; her son Thomas Sypher; daughter-in-law Beth Sypher; granddaughters Katherine Sypher and Emily Woiwood with a great grandson on the way. A graveside service will be held on Saturday December 23rd at 11:30 a.m. at Hammonasset Cemetery, River Rd in Madison.
