Jean C. Fischer, of Madison, died on November 27, 2016. She was born on September 25, 1930, in Middletown, the daughter of Everett Leroy and Hilda Ostergren Cole. Jean was a graduate of Connecticut College and Middlesex Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a registered nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was a member of the Democratic Town Committee, volunteered at the Madison Senior Center.

She served on the Madison Zoning Board. She had great interest and love for her family, friends, the natural world, politics, and social causes. Jean is survived by her children Alida Fischer and her husband Kenneth Berryhill of Lafayette, CO, Charles Jonathan Fischer of Miami Beach, FL, and Michael Fischer and his wife Claudia of Madison; grandchildren Carley Rose and Alexandra Cole.
