Obituary: John A. Wiesbrock, Jr. (Jack), 77, of Madison

In past years he belonged to the Madison Racquet Club and the Madison Country Club.

John A. Wiesbrock, Jr. (Jack), 77, passed away on August 4th, 2017, after a long illness. He was a resident of Madison, CT, since the bi-centennial year 1976. Jack was born in Aurora, IL, November 22nd, 1939, to John A. and Anna (Dekan) Wiesbrock.

He grew up in the Wheaton-Warrenville, IL, area and attended its public schools. He always kept in touch with old high school friends. Jack received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University in 1962, and then enlisted for a short term of duty with the U.S. Army, followed by years in the army reserves.

He worked for standard oil of New Jersey before becoming a pilot with Trans World Airlines (T.W.A.), a job he loved. In past years he belonged to the Madison Racquet Club and the Madison Country Club. Jack was a fan of many sports, but golf was a lifelong activity for him. He made many good friends through golf, especially John Ashton of Madison. He leaves his wife, Charlotte; children John W. Wiesbrock (Colleen O'Connor) of Madison, Sarah M. Wiesbrock (Arnaud LaCroix) of Houston TX; and two grandchildren he adored, John F. and Chloe Wiesbrock of Madison, CT. He also leaves his sisters, Jeanette Wiesbrock of Wheaton, IL, Margaret Welsh (Neil) of Good Hope, IL; brother David Wiesbrock (Paula Eaus) of Dallas, TX, and many cousins and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Catherine. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Swan Funeral Home 825 Boston Post Rd. Madison, CT 06443. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
