Obituary: Larry Patrick Killian, 77, of Madison
Larry loved golf and played in the Connecticut Special Olympics for many years and also played in the Guilford Men's Softball league.
Larry Patrick Killian, 77, passed away on May 5 at the Madison House in Madison, Connecticut. He is survived by his mother Mary Jane Killian of Guilford and his sister Linda Killian of Washington, DC. He was predeceased by his father Carl Killian of Guilford. Larry was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on March 17, 1943.
Green was his favorite color and he always loved to celebrate his birthday on St. Patrick’s Day. He lived with his family in the Pittsburgh area before moving to Guilford in 1974. Larry was one of the first people placed by SARAH in a full-time job when he was hired at Dushkin Publishing Group in Guilford where he worked for almost 30 years as an administrative services clerk. He loved his job there and among the highlights for him was playing Santa Claus at Christmas every year.

Larry was an avid sports fan and enjoyed talking about sports with everyone but he had a special life-long love of golf. When he was younger he was a frequent golf caddy at courses in the Pittsburgh area. After moving to Guilford he frequently played at local courses with friends. Larry also played golf in the Connecticut Special Olympics for many years and also played in the Guilford Men’s Softball league.
He was also a member of the Bethel Assembly of God church in Guilford. Private funeral services were held at Guilford’s Alder Brook Cemetery on May 12.
