Obituary: Louis E. Ursini Sr., 88, of Madison, formerly New Haven

Among the oldest members of the Annex Y.M.A Italian Club, he owned Lou's Club '70,' loved travel with his wife, bocce, and was a Yankees fan

Louis E. Ursini Sr., 88, of Madison CT and formerly of Morris Cove, New Haven entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 23, 2021, peacefully at his home. Louis was born in New Haven on February 12, 1933, son of the late Louis (Luigi) M Ursini and Catherine Palmieri Ursini. Louis was predeceased by the love of his life Philomena (Fanny) Fucci Ursini . They were happily married for 68 years. He also is predeceased by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. He leaves behind his cherished and beloved son Louis Ursini Jr, daughter in law Cindy and his best pals, grandson's James and Nicholas.

Louis retired from the city of New Haven as a rental inspector and warehouse manager. He was best known as the owner of Lou's Club '70' restaurant and bar. Lou loved to take vacations with his wife and friends; his favorites were Italy, Las Vegas, Chicago and New Orleans. He and his wife also loved the CT Casinos. He loved bocce, bowling and playing cards with his wife and others. He was an avid New York Yankee Fan watching every game and was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Louis was President and Man of the Year in 1983 for the Annex Little League and one of the oldest members of the Annex Y.M.A Italian Club. Louis also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and numerous friends and neighbors who he enjoyed visiting and talking with very much. He was very proud of his son and wife and their shared successes.

There will be a memorial mass held in the Parish of St. Pio of Pietrelcina at St. Bernadette Church, New Haven, on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11 am. Interment of ashes will take place immediately following the mass at St. Bernard Cemetery, New Haven. The East Haven Memorial Longobardi – Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the JDRF, P.O.
