Obituary: Mary Helen Brown Woods, 86, of Madison
Pat met her husband William C Woods Sr. at a picnic at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, where they would come to settle after marriage.

Mary Helen Brown Woods, 86, of Madison, CT Passed away on Friday, March 24th, 2017. She was born on April 22nd, 1930 in New Haven, CT to Parents John Scott and Mary Kendall Brown. Mary's father nicknamed her Petsy, which became Patsy, which settled into "Pat", as she was known to all who knew and loved her. She was raised in Hamden and graduated from Hamden High School in 1948.
Pat received her Business Degree from Stone College, where she was a member of the Alpha Lota Business Sorority. After college Pat worked as a sales manager at SNET, where she was a proud member of the 'Tel-Belles', the company's Softball Team. Pat met her husband William C Woods Sr. at a picnic at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, where they would come to settle after they were married on September 7th, 1957.

They opened the family accounting firm Wm. C Woods & Co., which still operates today. In addition, Pat was involved in volunteering at St Margarets Church, and enjoyed her time with the Madison Women's Club.
Pat was a 38-year survivor of breast cancer. Later on, one of her favorite pastimes became knitting, and she generously shared her creations, including providing black & gold scarves for the Hand High Girl's basketball team. Pat is survived be her husband of 59 years, William C Woods Sr., her children William C Woods Jr. (Dani), John Woods, Peter Woods (Michelle), Marypat Maloney (John), all of Madison, and Walter Woods of Hamden. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert S. Brown.

She is also survived by the greatest joys in her life, her granchildren, who all adored her; Kendall and Tyler Woods, Nick and Amy Woods, and Winifred, Robert, Declan & Aidan Maloney. Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, March 28th from 4-8 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford.
A memorial mass will be held at St Margaret Church in Madison, Wednesday Morning at 9 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Conquer Cancer Foundation, 2318 Mill Road, Suite 800, Alexandria, VA 22314.
