Maureen was employed as a CNA at Watrous Nursing home in Madison, CT. for nearly 30 years, before retiring in 2002.

Maureen June (Wood) Harvey, 85, widow of John Harvey, of Madison, CT. passed away at Nathaniel Witherall Nursing Home in Greenwich, CT. after a long illness with her family by her side. Maureen was born on 6/7/32, in South Battersea, London, England, to the late Bert and Clara (Scott) Wood. Maureen lived in England, Springfield, MA., and North Haven, CT., before settling in Madison, CT. Maureen enjoyed a professional singing career in England before emigrating to the United States.

Maureen was employed as a CNA at Watrous Nursing home in Madison, CT. for nearly 30 years, before retiring in 2002. Maureen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and spent her time singing, writing stories, and entertaining.

Maureen will be remembered most for her beautiful voice, big smile, and love of waffles. Maureen loved everyone, especially her family. Maureen is survived by her three sons, Scott Harvey and wife Lissette of Greenwich, CT., Chris Harvey and wife Kylie of Tucson, AZ., Joe Harvey and wife Denise of Madison, CT., one daughter, Lorraine (Harvey) Kustra and husband Scott, of New Haven, CT. Two brothers, Dennis Wood and wife June, of Trowbridge, England, Colin Wood and wife Carolyn of Naples, FL., one sister, Vivien (Wood) Stocks and husband Andy of East Hagbourne, England. Ten grandchildren, Danny, Alissa, Alan, Brian, Eric, Nicole, Caitlyn, Ryan, David, and Jazmin. One great granddaughter, Erin. Eight nieces and nephews, Anne, Michael, Katie, Iain, Suzanne, Hillary, Colin, and Brian.

In addition to her husband, Maureen was predeceased by her sister in law, Rosemary Wood, and niece Mary Wood. Maureen's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Nathaniel Witherell staff for their wonderful care.

Calling Hours will take place on Friday October 6, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, with a chapel service starting at 12:00pm and burial immediately following at West Cemetery. All services will be held at Swan Funeral Home 825 Boston Post Rd. Madison, CT. 06443.
