Obituary: Nancy M. Alaimo of Madison

Nancy had a flair for fashion earning her the nick name "Fancy Nancy" Nancy was lovingly referred to as Mama by her family.

Monday, July 9, 2018 Nancy M. Alaimo of Madison passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at CT Hospice in Branford after a long courageous battle with cancer. Wife of the late Edward C. Alaimo. Nancy was born in Waterbury on Jan. 29, 1940 daughter of the late John and Ruth (Mitchell) Bacys. Loving mother of Ruth (Anthony) Bruno of Southington; Theodore (Elaine) Potoniec of Bethlehem, CT; Christine Lynn (Victor DeBernardi) of Guilford. Sister of Lillian Altman of NM. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Amanda and Olivia Lynn; Corey and Katie Potoniec.

Before retiring Nancy worked as an office manager for the Victor A. Nutile Bus Co in North Haven for many years. Nancy had a flair for fashion earning her the nick name “Fancy Nancy” Nancy was lovingly referred to as Mama by her family who she enjoyed cooking for and entertaining. Nancy crocheted beautiful blankets for those around her. She loved the ocean, Newport and boating.

She also had a strong faith in God. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 11. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK73123.
